The Babe Junior Golf Championship at Industry Hills Recap

The RecruitLook Junior Golf Tour Event Recap :
Southern California Tour

We were thrilled to kickoff the RecruitLook Junior Golf Tour at Industry Hills on May 28th! The first event for the Southern California Tour featured players from ages 9-18 years old competing for a chance to eventually be the overall Tour Champion!

Before we can crown a Tour Champion, golfers first have to navigate their way through the ups and downs of the RLJGT schedule.

Where have RLJGT golfers gone to college?

In the Boys 15-18 division, Raphael Vallarama captured the tournament with an impressive 73 — 1 double, 1 bogey, 2 birdies, and rest pars — a very consistent round for Raphael. Chengyu Liang finished in 2nd with a round of 86.

In the Boys 13-14 division, Paul Shin won with a score of 97. Shin struggled some out of the gate but worked his way through the course, and improved 11 strokes on the back 9!

The Girls 13-14 division was the closest finish of the tournament. Emiko Sverduk (81) narrowly edged out Kate Younger (82). Both girls were playing lights out golf, but it was Sverduk’s birdie on #9 that ultimately proved to be the difference.

In the Girls 11-12 division, Tiffany Chang ran away with the tournament, winning by 18 strokes over Krystal Chai. Chang posted 9 pars on her way to an 88.

Patrick Wang took home the Boys 11-12 division in the first event of the year. Wang posted higher numbers than he had hoped for, but he’s determined to get his scores lower in future events.

The Boys 9-10 division was a 3-man race where Zachary Luo outlasted the pack on his way to victory. Luo posted 78 and had a crazy birdie on the par 3, 17th hole. Shawn Nawata posted an 80 for 2nd place, and Jaden Soong posted an 81 for 3rd place.

In the girls 9-10 division, Alison Soewito shot an 84 to win by 12 strokes over Ejenn Huang and Juliet Oh, both shooting 96.

Congratulations to all our winners and players on a great showing.
