  • TIME OF STARTING / OFFICIAL TIME – The Official Time is defined by the clock located on the tee where a player is scheduled to begin their stipulated round. Failure to arrive on time is 2 strokes on the first hole. If after 5 minutes the player arrives, they are disqualified. If a player previously checked in with the starter, they are still required to be at the starting area at their scheduled tee time.
  • SCORING AREA – The scoring area is defined by the scoring table area or the outside edge of the scoring tent when one is used. Once a player has left the building or the scoring tent, the card is officially turned in and may not be changed.
  • PAIRINGS – First Round Pairings will be random in all tournaments. All pairings after the first round will be based on scores.
  • PACE OF PLAY – The RLJGT Pace of Play Guidelines is in effect at all events. The Committee has the right to amend the pace of play based on the difficulty of the golf course.
  1. Number of minutes designated for each hole: Par 3’s – :13, Par 4’s – :15, Par 5’s – :17
  2. A group is in position if it finishes any hole within 15 minutes of the group ahead.
  3. Any group finishing the final more than 20 minutes behind the group ahead will receive an automatic 1 stroke penalty at the scoring table.
  • APPEALING A PACE OF PLAY PENALTY – Players may appeal a pace of play penalty after the completion of play and prior to returning the scorecard. The committee will consider the facts of the situation, and penalties may be rescinded for the group or individual players. Players and caddies are not allowed to confront a rules official with an appeal.
  • DISCONTINUANCE OF PLAY – Optional Condition as prescribed in Appendix I is in effect. All practice areas are closed during suspension for a dangerous situation until the Committee has declared them open.
  • CELL PHONES – The use of cell phones or a similar electronic device by a player or his caddie during a stipulated round is prohibited. Violation may lead to a 2 stroke penalty or Disqualification. This policy is subject to change.
  • DRESS CODE – Only acceptable golf attire is permitted. Players are prohibited from wearing shoes with metal spikes, short shorts, swimwear, denim of any kind, t-shirts, and or tank tops. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Players not properly attired will not be permitted to participate.
  • NO SHOW/NO CONTACT – it is expected that the player contacts the tournament committee when a player is unable to attend. No refund will be issued.
  • TIES If possible, ties for first place in any age division will be decided by a “play-off” as determined by the Tour staff. If a play-off cannot be completed, the winner will be decided by a matching of scorecards as follows:

Total of the final 9 holes

Total of the final 6 holes

Total of the final 3 holes

From the last hole going backwards until a winner is determined

All ties for 2nd and 3rd place will also be decided by a matching of score cards as described above.

  • SPECTATORS – Spectators are permitted to rent carts. This is subject to availability from the Golf Course. The carts must stay 25 yards away from participants during play. First Offense: 2 Stroke Penalty. Second Offense: DQ.
  • CLOSE OF COMPETITION – The competition shall be deemed to have closed when the trophy or, in absence of a trophy, when the prizes has been presented to the winner at the awards ceremony.
  • TROPHIES AND AWARDS – We recommend staying around if you feel you have a chance of placing in a division. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each division.
  • CANCELLATION/REFUNDS – Tournament Registration closes 7 days prior to the event or when the event is full. Late registration will be an extra $25 and it is up to the Tournament Director whether there is room. Late entry is not guaranteed. If a player has a legitimate reason to withdraw such as illness, injury or family emergency, a $35 cancellation fee shall be charged if the association is notified at least 72 hours prior to the event. Any cancellation after 72 hours, no refund.
  • WAITLIST – Players will only be notified by the RLJGT if a spot becomes available. Wait list closes 72 hours prior to the first day of the event. Wait list players will be allowed to enter until the registration deadline for the event.


By submitting an entry for any RLJGT-administered competition, the player understands that their participation is at the sole discretion of the RLJGT. A player may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the RLJGT staff or the rules and competitions committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the RLJGT or the spirit of the game are grounds for such removal and suspension from future RLJGT administered competitions.


Any of the following actions by a RecruitLook Junior Golf Tour player at any RLJGT event or toward another RLJGT player, constitutes a violation of the Code of Conduct:

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors, or abuse of golf course property
  • Not adhering to the dress code at the host golf course
  • Use or association with drugs, alcohol, or smoking or chewing tobacco products
  • Conduct not becoming of an RLJGT player, such as acting in anger or creating other distractions
  • Failure to treat host golf course with respect by ignoring the responsibility of caring for the course, filling divots and repairing ball marks
  • Physical abuse, threat of physical abuse, verbal abuse, slander or libel towards other players, parents, coaches, sponsors, host golf course staff or members, RLJGT staff or volunteers.

Suspension could also result from actions that are disruptive to other players or create an unfavorable image of the association. A player that performs an act considered to be unsportsmanlike conduct will have the incident reviewed by the RLJGT Committee to determine if further action including suspension is warranted.


Any Code of Conduct violation will result in a written letter to the player and his or her parent/guardian. The RLJGT Tournament Committee may assess any or all of the following penalties based on severity and frequency of the violation(s):

  • One-stroke penalty for each act of unsportsmanlike behavior on the golf course
  • Immediate disqualification from the tournament at which the violation occurs
  • Depending on the severity of the violation, a tournament disqualification may also result in disqualification from the next event(s) for which a player has been accepted
  • The RLJGT reserves the right to suspend or revoke a player’s membership for a major breach of the RLJGT Code of Conduct
  • Violation of the RLJGT Code of Conduct may affect a player’s eligibility for future events and post-season honors. Any player receiving a Code of Conduct penalty forfeits their RecruitLook membership for the calendar year.



  • Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward.
  • Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks (host golf course permitting) must be worn and tucked in at all times
  • Women’s fashion shirts without a collar must have sleeves
  • Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at any time during the golf swing
  • Women’s shorts, skorts and skirts must be no more than 5″ above the knee or the inseam of the shorts must measure at least 5″


  • Tank tops, T-shirts
  • Denim shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts, jeans, sweat pants, yoga pants
  • Earrings (males)
  • Body piercings
  • Tattoos (must be covered)

Proper attire is required at all times at the host golf course, including practice rounds. Questionable attire will be reviewed by the Tournament Committee. Should a host golf course have a stricter dress code, its policy will take precedence. Players in violation will not be allowed to tee off.


Electronic Devices other than RLJGT Approved “Distance Measuring” Devices are prohibited. GPS and Rangefinders that include other calculations such as slope are strictly prohibited. Prohibited devices include but are not limited to: pagers, Ipods, MP3’s, CD Players, etc. If a player is found using these devices during the course of play, the player will be disqualified from the event and may face further sanctions. Cellular telephones may only be used to record scores for live scoring or in an emergency situation.


1) Please remain on the cart paths whenever possible, or in the rough, and at least 50 yards away from the competitors playing throughout the course of the event. Please do not walk in the fairways. Please stay off fairways, tees, and greens.

2) Carry an umbrella, food, drink, medicine, etc.… for your child. If the competitor needs any of the following these can be obtained BETWEEN play of holes, not during play.

3) Please refrain from giving advice to a player during their round.

4) Spectators may search for lost balls, and may stand by the green to watch when the players are putting, at no time are they allowed on the putting surface.

5) Allow rules officials to make the ruling. Only if they request your assistance are you allowed to interject.

6) Please turn off cell phones while on the course. In an emergency situation, you may use your phone.

The following actions are UNACCEPTABLE from a parent/spectator:

  • Verbally abusing or belittling players for any reason
  • Yelling and/or cursing at players/officials/golf course staff
  • Hand signals/gestures (These are considered advice!)
  • Interfering with players/officials/golf course staff while in the scoring area
  • Giving rulings to juniors on the golf course (too often the information is incorrect)
  • Interfering with any player’s opportunity to compete fairly and fun while playing the game of golf

All spectators are to fill out our Spectator Policy Form before attending an event.

Parents Code of Conduct

  1. Advice (Rule 8) is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. In addition, any conversation between player/spectator may be construed as advice. This includes any conversation between player/spectator in their native language. In either instance, penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes. Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regards to this rule.
  2. Keeping the above statement in mind, please keep your conversation with the player to words of encouragement as long as advice is not given.
  3. Spectators attend RLJGT events at their own risk.
  4. Please turn off all cell phones at RLJGT events.
  5. All players and spectators are not permitted to ride on the back of a golf cart at any time during RLJGT competitions.
  6. Spectators should stay on cart paths. In the absence of cart paths, we ask that spectators stay in the rough. Please stay off fairways, tees and greens.
  7. Spectators should stay one shot ahead of the group they are following. This allows spectators to follow errant shots and help identify where the ball comes to rest. Spectators are allowed to aid in the search for lost golf balls.
  8. Spectators should not give rulings. Please seek an RLJGT rules official if the need arises.
  9. Spectators are allowed to carry medicine, drinks, food, umbrellas, etc.
  10. The RLJGT staff may assess a penalty to the player based on the severity of the spectator violation. If a serious breach has occurred, the spectator may be asked to leave the facility or the spectator may not be permitted to attend another RLJGT event.
  11. For your personal safety, we ask you exercise caution at all times. When inclement weather moves into the area, the RLJGT will suspend play by sounding airhorns. Accordingly, you should seek shelter immediately. The RLJGT staff will evacuate players from the course first and then spectators.

 Outside Alcohol and/or Illegal Drugs

Under no circumstances are players allowed to bring outside alcohol or illegal drugs onto the property. If a player is caught with outside alcohol or illegal drugs the player will be disqualified from the event and asked to leave and may face further sanctions.


Inclement weather conditions may delay or suspend play, every effort will be used in determining the safety of all the players. There are no refunds if weather shortens an event, but every effort will be made to complete the event. If any round is washed out, the results will be based on remaining rounds completed.


  • Boys 15-18: Minimum Yardage of 6,200
  • Boys 13-14: Minimum Yardage of 6,200
  • Boys 11-12: Minimum Yardage of 5,000
  • Boys 9-10: Minimum Yardage of 4,500
  • Girls 15-18: Minimum Yardage of 5,500
  • Girls 13-14: Minimum Yardage of 5,500
  • Girls 11-12: Minimum Yardage of 5,000
  • Girls 9-10: Minimum Yardage of 4,500
